​Dr. Middlebrook is a New Jersey Licensed Psychologist who has experience working with individuals across the life span, from adolescents and college-age young adults to older adults. She has provided mental health care in a variety of settings including inpatient substance abuse treatment/detox, a university counseling center, an urban outpatient clinic, a preschool, as well as outpatient treatment setting for DCP&P mandated clients. Dr. Middlebrook takes a person-centered humanistic approach to working with clients, integrating client-centered, existential-humanistic therapy with evidence-based treatments. Dr. Middlebrook was born with a genetic neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), which directly informs her practice and enhances her ability to connect and empathize with others. She hopes to use her lived experience as a person with a disability in order to serve individuals who are wheelchair dependent and live with chronic health conditions.
