Dr. Margenau has been a sports psychologist for Major League baseball teams, NBA teams, professional golfers, and nonprofessional athletes, helping them overcome psychological barriers to peak performance. During his four decades as a psychotherapist he has also developed specialties in alcohol and other sustance abuse treatment as well as hypnosis. In addition, he has trained in a variety of psychodynamic approaches. Dr. Margenau hosted WFAN’s weekly show Psyching It Out, wrote a column by the same name for the New York Daily News, authored the book Sports Without Pressure, and served as editor-in-chief of The Encyclopedic Handbook of Private Practice.
